Hi John, While your site shows some very interesting customer projects, it doesn't show the most stunning of all: http://people.mw.mediaone.net/cbrodersen/newform.html Mine are still stock, btw, and I still enjoy them tremendously.
Kind regards,

Hi John,
The thickness for the side walls is 1 1/4" ie: 3/4 + 1/2". I did this to keep the front baffle as narrow as possible. All other walls are 1 1/2" ie: 1 + 1/2". I used Dynaply between the two pieces of MDF on each wall except the top where I was concerned that there might be some flexing with heavy ribbon. I posted some pictures on the Yahoo Newform forum under Photos. I will enclose one and can send you more if you are interested.

Hey JM,

Check it out!, Ain't much different than the original. The rounded top seems to ease the transition from box to ribbon. To allow for the loss of volume (15 inches in each top side corner) the enclosure is 3/8" taller (cant go wider!). A 5/8" roundover was used on the baffles, they're stopped a few inches from the base. To further ease the transition from base to box I used two layers of 3/4" molding made using a cove bit. I'm not done experimenting with the molding/base, the possibilities are endless. It still needs work on the inside so this isn't my best and final finish. Even if your not impressed by it's appearance, at least I didn't screw up the world class soundstage. If you still plan on devoting a page on your website to diy r645's I can supply plenty of pictures, I just purchased a digital camera.

Regards, Dan

I've finally got my Sound Anchor Stands attached to my R645's. I think they sound even better now. The speakers are about 2" higher, which may be bad for some listeners, but it's fine for me.

I (and Robert Krist) find that there is more inner harmonics, slightly tighter bass, a bigger sound stage, more depth and better integration between the base module and the ribbon now that I have the Sound Anchors installed. They cost me $235 plus $125 to have professional mounted (I'm not handy) and I think they're well worth it.

I've attached 2 pictures. My audiophiles really seem to like them too!

Hope all is well with you.
Gary

Here is a picture as they stand today -
