What took us so long to develop the final versions of the LineSource models? There were compromises in the
consistency of the soundstage in various areas of the listening area plus audible baffle bounce with the
initial parallel line source prototypes. Despite the great strengths of these speakers, we didn=t want to
take a step back in any area with the new models. So the Coaxial Ribbon LineSource were conceived and
prototyped and with these, we are able to deliver progress on all fronts.
Coaxial Ribbon LineSource models come in two versions. The LineSource Reference is suitable for front loudspeakers in medium to very large rooms with virtually no restriction on height as they are completely scalable. They can offer superb transparency and dynamics with extremely little timbre shift over a very large area whether the listener is standing or seated. The LSRs are highly configurable and tuneable to allow the ideal match for room and listening requirements. For both music and home theater the LineSource Reference will stand up with any home loudspeaker in the world in all parameters and do better than some of the most expensive in some key areas. The LineSource Monitor can also be scaled for different sized rooms but its primary design objective is to meet the need for a smaller loudspeaker with high dynamics. For surround, on-wall, on-desk, and yes, the much derided center channel applications, the LSM offers exceptional transparency and dynamics in a very small footprint. As a center channel, the LSM gets it right with a very broad and even pattern of dispersion as opposed to the lobed response of MTM center designs. For small rooms, the LSMs deliver outstanding stereo with rock solid, is somewhat limited bottom end. |
