PANASONIC XR45 |

The XR45 is a typical low end 6 channel receiver with one important
difference. It has the first commercial implementation of the Texas
Instruments Equibit digital amplifier chipset. Its specifications are
very poor but the sound belongs on the top shelf of high end amplifiers.
![]() At 9 pounds, and 3" high there is no clue to its musical potential. The trick is to set it up properly so the factory default low end filter is turned off. This requires that the front speakers are made large AND the subwoofer is turned off. Failure to do BOTH results in the 100Hz filter (which is the default setting) being left on with the result that there is no bottom end. Used with the Behringer DCX2496 produces incredible musical results despite the use of analog inputs in a biamped configuration. Now a cult item, the XR45 sold much more quickly than Panasonic could have guessed. The XR45 is being replaced by the XR70 in August in the USA and in September in Canada. There is still currently stock of the XR45 in Canada but Panasonic USA is sold out. Panasonic XR45 digital amplifier receiver, high end amplifier, digital amp, XR70, digital audio, high end audio. |
